What to expect:

First, give us a call and schedule an intake. You do not need an outside referral source to schedule with us.

Intakes last about 2 hours. After your intake, if you are appropriate for treatment, you will begin group as soon as possible.

Each week, our participants will have 9 hours of intensive group therapy (M,W,F from 5-8 pm) and 1 hour of individual therapy. We do offer marital counseling on an as-needed basis for our participants and their spouses. Treatment will last a total of 12 weeks. However, our participants can stay longer if they need more support.

If you have a family member who would like to join our family support group on Wednesdays from 6–8 P.M., please contact Jennifer Rokisky at JenniferRokisky@RenewKnoxville.com.

Our services are grounded in scripture and will follow the truth of God's story for mankind:

  • Creation: We are made to be in relationship with Him. (Genesis 1:27)

  • The Fall: Man fell in the garden and our relationship with God is now in a fallen state because of sin. (Genesis 3:7-8)

  • Redemption: God has provided a way for us to be reconciled to Himself through His Son, Jesus Christ. (John 3:16)

  • Restoration: God will work in our lives to heal our mind, will and emotions to resemble His Son, Jesus Christ and set us free from strongholds and the bondage of sin in our lives. (2 Corinthians 3:17, 1 John 2:1)

Our perspective is biblical, which is also informed by evidence-based practices and research, such as:

Trauma Informed Care:

A careful approach to participants that respects individual history and experience.

We approach each participant with the understanding that they have a unique background, challenges, and strengths.

Job 5:11 - He sets on high those who are lowly, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.

Neuroscience:

Evidence-based practices that aid in re-wiring the brain.

We believe in each participant’s God-given potential to learn and reinforce healthy patterns of behavior and thought processes.

Romans 12:2 - Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Addiction Science:

A framework that understands the effects of addiction on our brain, the way we think and patterns of behavior, which requires physical healing to take place. God cares about our physical needs and has given us a healing process.

James 2:16 - One of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?

We Create a Continuum of Care

By engaging the participant with opportunities for connection and belonging in the faith community, we provide a life context which supports recovery and fosters growth. This consists of Christ-centered Recovery groups, Recovery-friendly churches, Coaching, Family Support Groups, Marital/Pre-Marital/Couples Counseling (as needed), and Celebrate Recovery/AA/NA.

“I am excited about presenting a clinically and biblically sound path to wholeness. The God who made the brain also offered the power, by the Holy Spirit, to bring life change. Knowing Him and knowing how He made us are both vital to life change!”
